Committee Introduction and Responsibilities

Fundraiser and Public Relations (PR) Committee:

Main responsibilities include planning and executing all of the fundraising events as well as aiding in promoting WPS to others.

Sports Activity Committee:

Main responsibilities include assisting in all of the sporting events including inter-school competitions and planning and executing recreational events such as hiking and camping.

Teacher/Parent Communication Committee:

Act as a GO-TO person for teachers when they have any special requests or need from PTAs. Act as a mediator when any conflicts arise between parents and teachers.

Event Committee:

A challenging role for a true leader! In charge of all the events, making sure appropriate people are assigned to the event and all the tasks are taken care of.
Note: Not responsible of doing all the work themselves ... rather they are responsible for managing the events, and ensuring everything is taken care of before, during and after an event.

Parent Support Committee (aka Room Parent Coordinator):

Chair's main responsibilities include communicate with room parents; inform events and tasks so that they can in turn communicate with their classroom parents. Room parents responsibilities include assist any needs the teacher has, plan and execute classroom events, contact classroom parents and inform/remind matters as needed. Note that it is now mandatory for the room parents to attend the PTA meetings and they are part of the PTA officers. When unable to, must make sure at least one person from the classroom is represented at the meeting.
